Day #66: Friday, March 15, 2013

INCREDIBLE first day in Paris.  Sweet Kelley is Johnny on the Spot, and she was waiting at the bus stop when I arrived!
I've had a crepe or two in my lifetime...but these right here were the REAL DEAL!!!
Chestnut butter....decided it sounded cool so I tried it!!! Tasted kind of like pumpkin!
Arc de Triomphe (I wish y'all could have heard me try to speak with a French accent........I would always ask Kelley to say a word and then I'd repeat it.....and I sounded like a runover cow!!!!)
 A little baguette!!!
Kelley's madame let me stay in her house!  Slept on this futon and it was quite comfy!!!
I've decided that I do things while studying abroad that seem quite "normal" at the time...and it isn't until a few days later, when it registers that what I did was actually quite strange.  Exhibit A:  Kelley's room is on the sixth floor, but her madame lives on the 2nd floor.  My futon was on the 2nd floor.  No big deal...just sleeping in some lady's house in Paris...and I don't know a lick of French.  Don't take this the wrong way...I am BEYOND GRATEFUL for this place to stay...it just kinda makes me laugh thinking about the situation.  And the whole study abroad experience is full of times like these!!!  I've just learned to smile and embrace whatever is in front of me!!!
Had a fun little French dinner...and our waiter spoke perfect French, Spanish, and English!
After dinner, Kelley took me to see the Eiffel Tower at 10pm...because it SPARKLES on the hour!!! So beautiful!!!
WAHOOOOOOO LIVING THE LIFE IN PARIS!!!!!
