Rain then sunshine....then more rain then more sunshine. The weather was back and forth all day here in Sevilla...and this afternoon, I actually had a little scare on the bike!!!
I was going to meet up with Mary Blake, a friend from Carolina who is here visiting Julia and Shoshanna, and I had a total WIPE OUT. The Center (el Centro) has a tram that runs through it, and the tram tracks cut into the middle of the huge walkway that extends throughout the Center. The roads were slick because of the rain, and my front tire hit the track at a funny angle. Before I even knew what was happening, my bike had slipped out from underneath me...and I was sprawled out across the tracks. A sweet older lady came over to check on me...asked me if I was able to get up and walk around...and sure enough, I was fine. I hopped up and walked my bike out of the way...and literally five seconds later, a tram came zooming through the walkway. Wow!!! The Lord sure was watching after me. Had I fallen a few seconds later...well, who knows???!! What a reminder to all of us that His timing is always perfect. Always. I have to say this over and over to myself...and truly claim it...because I constantly find myself doubting Him. But time and time again, He reveals to me that His plan is always greater. His hand is holding us. His grace is overflowing. And He knows what is best. Mary Carr, just TRUST Him. Trust Him with your whole life. Why is this so hard?
He sure did grab my attention this afternoon, and boy, am I thankful. When will I ever learn to TRULY LET GO...and remember that my life is in His hands???!!
